50th Anniversary of the
BMW Dallas Marathon Festival
Dec. 11-13, 2020
Benefiting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
We are very excited to open race registration for the 50th Anniversary of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival. We will be hosting 10 events including the Friday Night Lights Mile, Saturday morning family events (a 10K & 5K Presented by CBS 11 and the Oncor Kid’s Race benefiting Kids runDallas) and on Sunday celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the BMW Dallas Marathon with the Marathon, Half Marathon, Ultra Marathon, 5-Person Marathon Relay and 2-Person Half Marathon Relay. We have an event for every member of your family to participate in and a fun two-day Health & Fitness Expo, all supporting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
We have many new features this year including:
- 50th Anniversary themed medals, participant shirts, finisher shirts and race bibs
- Upgraded post-race food and beverages for all participants
- Enhanced entertainment throughout race weekend
- ASICS race jackets for Weekend Series participants
- Virtual Marathon and Half Marathon race options
Considering the global precautions currently being taken to reduce the spread of COVID-19, throughout the summer and fall we will continue to follow the guidance of Government and Health Officials. Based on direction from Government and Health Officials, if the unlikely decision is made in the fall that the event weekend needs to be postponed, we have a contingency plan set for the spring of 2021.
The contingency plan calls for the same events and great experiences as planned for this December to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival. Should we have to postpone for any reason, participants would have the option of running a virtual race in December of 2020 for the race distance they registered for or run the race in the spring of 2021 on the to be determined date.
We hope the anticipation of participating in the 50th Anniversary of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival in December brings happiness to the DFW community and for all runners and walkers who love the sport. We continue to wish you and your family good health, happiness and fitness.
